Description: These are three terrific up-and-comers
in the world of drum'n'bass and electronica, two of the most promising
live bands and a very deep DJ. This show is designed to be
a demonstration of what we feel are people on the right track, catching
the evolution of live music as it meshes with electronica and vice-versa.
What this translates to is an entirely new sound, both coming from
the bands and DJs alike.
Schism was one of the first
bands to break out with completely organically produced drum'n'bass
from the viewpoint of being strictly DJ-influenced and oriented.
What this means is that they are not a jam-band who happened to
stumble upon drum'n'bass, rather a drum'n'bass band that can't help
but let their instrumental prowess shine. These guys have
been producing a warmer sound as of late and are really starting
to get into their own direction.
Kingspin is a Philly/Boston
based DJ that we are starting to like a lot. He produces these
sick drum'n'bass tracks that have the melodic elements of trance,
but are 100% on with the beats. You can float your mind on
the treble while grooving to the drum'n'bass rhythms. In other
words pleasant yet still kicking you in the ass.
Mode 3 we're
hoping is the answer to everything. All I know for sure is
that their demo was cut on their third rehearsal, and despite it's
rawness is by far the most natural live electronica that I've heard
yet. Their picking up in a spot that only the most mature
live electronic bands have gotten to, and their are only a handful
of those. Also right on with the melodic elements worked into
drum'n'bass. Can't wait to see this |
